Hi, I’m Simi Jajoo, a mom of two and an interior designer by passion. When my little one arrived, everything changed. Suddenly, I was looking at the world through tiny eyes wanting every corner of our home to be safe, beautiful, and full of wonder. But as I searched for furniture for my child’s room, I kept hitting the same roadblock.
Cute designs? Plenty. Affordable options? Sure.But sustainable, eco-friendly kids’ furniture that didn’t compromise on style, safety, or durability? Almost nowhere to be found.
As an interior designer, I’ve always believed that spaces should tell a story and children’s rooms deserve the most magical ones. Yet the market was filled with mass-produced pieces made from questionable materials, coated in chemicals, and designed to be outgrown or discarded in a couple of years. I couldn’t accept that.
“Why should growing up mean growing apart from nature? Why couldn’t we have furniture that’s kind to the planet, gentle on little bodies, and still sparks joy and imagination?”
That’s when Chikuaa was born.
